I’m normally quite monogamous with my garment knitting and like to finish something before casting on the next thing. But dips in my knitting mojo have got me wanting to cast on all the new exciting things!

I do also like having a bigger simple homeware project on the go alongside garments. This is often a blanket, but at the moment I’m working on a basket crocheted with yarn over polytube. It’s great fun! But it does hurt my thumbs and shoulders so I can’t do much in one sitting.

Last weekend I finished the front section of my Isla jumper (Ravelry link). I’ve added to 20cm to the length and really enjoyed knitting it… but might let it hibernate for a bit before starting the back.

I’ve also finished the back of Beardies cardigan… and feel like I “should” start the fronts, but my knitting mojo lull isn’t motivating me to knit what I “should” be knitting…

So I’ve cast on Eventide by Inyoung Kim from Pom Pom Mag issue 30! (Ravelry link)

I really love the construction and it’s perfect for how I’m feeling at the moment. Each scallop is small and worked separately so I feel like I’m achieving a lot quite quickly. Once you’ve made the first batch of scallops, you then pick up along the edges for the following rows of scallops. And once all the scallops are done you’re almost there!

I’m sure that some of you are thinking “eek - look at all those ends!”. You could easily sew them in as you go, but I personally like having a big sewing-in session at the end.

I’m using some Rowan Fine Milk Cotton which has been in my stash for a really long time and the coral is Rowan Summerlite Cotton 4ply.

Hopefully I’ll finish it in time for Me Made May!
